INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC ONCOLOGY MEETING 2017 8 COMMANDMENTS FOR ONCOLOGICAL ANESTHESIA: MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN CANCER OUTCOMES Improving strategies in perioperative management for 2017 International Academic Oncology Meeting pretends to motivate scientic and academic disclosure of the areas related to cancer. It also seeks to promote knowledge in national and international medical community by opening the forum to the discussion of new methods and technic with high level of evidence. This event has become one of the bests forums of the medical community, recognized national and internationally. Annually, IAOM Meetings characterizes by developing a program with high scientic level in its contents, traditionally divided by thematic blocks, where specic topics will be discussed by national and foreign professors in very diverse forms of interactions (conferences, round tables, workshops, free presentations, symposiums, scientic analysis and discussion forums among others) trying to generate an intense synergy between professors and general attendees. Considering all of the above and the fact that now days the discipline of the onco- anesthesia plays an important role in the diagnosis and last stages of oncological patients, we propose the following program for the 2017 edition of IAOM meeting: Analyze the 8 topics that are included in the concept “The 8 Commandments for Oncological Anesthesia” which try to improve the conditions of oncological patients

that had surgical procedures by applying new strategies such as: 1) Minimize the usage of opioids on oncological patients; 2) Usage of regional anesthesia and its impact in the condition of the patient after surgery; 3) Multimodal Anesthesia and the usage of Nonsteroidal antiinammatory drugs; 4) Usage of Intravenous anesthetic techniques seeking to improve the condition of the patient after surgery; 5) Application of blood product transfusion guidelines in real oncology settings; 6) The know-how for anesthesiologist in minimal invasive surgeries and its impact in the condition of the patient after surgery; 7) Impact of accelerated recovery strategies in oncology; 8) The importance of the usage and combination of all of the strategies. The main purpose of the program is to give the attendees innovative technics that can be used in their daily working area. Therefore, at the end of each block we are considering a session of that facilitate the interaction between attendees and professors and provide a space for clear doubts. We are also considering a nal debate between national and foreign professors, over the appliance and real impact of these new trends in our daily working areas.
