10 Steps to Increase your Online Presence

Marketing Online Marketing your practice online takes time and a lot of testing. So to help you out we have put together the top ways to get noticed online. This list is not complete, its just to get you started. Although using the suggested tools and following the tips, you will increase your reach and make your social media presence a little easier and less time-consuming.

Suggestions & Tools 1 - LIVE VIDEO  Video gets more organic reach on Facebook and LIVE video is pushed even higher. Go live and talk about your latest blog, your thought for the day....etc. Let your audience get to know you personally.

TOOLS & TIPS

You can record live from your phone or from your desktop. Just click the live button and go LIVE. Your video will get even more reach if people comment on it. Ask people questions during your live video and ask them to answer in the chat. Set up a ManyChat Growth Tool to automatically send resources win response to comments in the chat. Try Video on Twitter by using your phone, thank people and reply using a video to stand out from the crowd.

2 - OTHER VIDEO  As video of all kinds gets more reach, why not mix up your feeds with some recorded video. Vary the kind of video, talk to the camera, film your practice room, your favourite quotes etc. Always post your video natively to the platform you are sharing it on (for example, do not share YouTube links, upload the video direct) (Free Tools )

3 - CREATE IMAGES  Images create a lot of attention on social media....a lot more than just posting your link straight to your social media channel. You want to stop users scrolling and pay attention to what you are telling them. Your image does not always have to include text. Use an image that will catch peoples attention and add the text in the status update.

Use Canva.com (free) to create your images. Remember, If you are adding your logo, make sure it is not too prominent. Highlight text by using a coloured shape behind the text (like this box) Make various images for the same post to it varies your feed. (Free Tools)

4 - SCHEDULE YOUR POSTS  So you have created fantastic videos and eye-catching images. Posting them once is not enough. They need to be posted at different times on different days. There is not going to be enough time in the day to do this manually but the more your feed fills up, the more chance there is of people connecting with you. Schedule posts to be sent at various times throughout the day. Mix your posts with some of your own content and with other content that is of interest to your audience. CONTENT TOOLS:

5 - CREATE YOUR FB MESSENGER BOT This one may sound a little strange to you if you have not used AI (Artificial Intelligence) as part of your social media strategy. You might be surprised at how helpful Bots are and the number of possibilities there are for scaling up your communication with your audience. (We are really excited about this one!) There are many tools to create your Facebook Messenger bot. We would suggest ManyChat.com based on the ease of use and capabilities.....and it can be set up FREE!

6 - UPDATE YOUR BIOS This might seem like an obvious step but it is often forgotten. You want to make sure your links are working and up to date. Keep your photo recent and clear. If you have your logo as your profile picture you may want to change it to a picture of yourself, just so people can see the face behind your practice.. Always test your bio links periodically just to make sure they are all in working order.

You do not always have to have your website as your bio links. Add your latest blog, event, FB Video links etc. (Update your bio with a short explanation to catch attention like...."Click my bio link to view my blog about......") Use Bitly.com to shorten and customize your links When you are updating your LinkedIn profile turn off 'Sharing Profile Edits' so changes don't appear in your feed while you are updating Your email sign off can also be a good place to add links to your blog, website, event etc.

7 - PROFESSIONAL COVER IMAGES Social media platforms gives you an opportunity to tell your story through your header image. However, don't be tempted to use the same image over all platforms as they all have different size dimensions. If you are writing blogs, promoting events etc, use these images to bring attention to them.

Canva hosts the dimensions for all of the platforms. However, when your Facebook page is accessed via mobile, the desktop dimensions will be cut off, so create a custom size image on canva - 851 x 475 Use your cover image to promote your latest blog, event, offer etc. If you do this, remember to update it if the event has passed and if you change the link in your bio.

8 - TURN YOUR BLOGS INTO A DOWNLOADABLE PDF This may seem like you are doubling work already completed, but repurposing content is a great way to market your practice. By making your blog downloadable content, it gives you something to offer your audience to take away.

Create a Growth Tool post using ManyChat.com. Ask your audience to comment a particular word in the post comments so you can send them the free download/ resources (ManyChat will auto send the PDF)

Schedule regular posts offering your audience a 'FREE download', 'Downloadable Resource' etc. On your blog page offer the reader a chance to download your blog and read later. This is a great way to have your work in their minds. Have a Call To Action on the PDF...."Get more info here"..."Read more about this topic here"...."Contact me if"... If you are creating your PDF in Canva always make your contact details, social media account and website clickable on your PDF

9 - Spend time on Social Media being 'Social' Its always good to show that you are on Social Media not just to blast people with your content, but that you also want to connect, network and help share the work of others. Find others you can bring into your network. This can help as you share each others content and potentially pass work to each other where appropriate. Join groups and interact with members. Some groups share blogs, Facebook pages etc. This is a great way to get to find out what people are writing about, to get your own ideas and to build community online.

Always thank anyone who interacts with you on Twitter, for example, if someone likes your Tweet, send them a Thank You reply. Check out peoples Bios, about sections and take the initiative to share something or comment on something that interests you about their bio, website, etc. Use commun.it to help with growing your connections

10 - ALWAYS THINK ABOUT BUILDING YOUR EMAIL LIST Email is a great way to build relationships and community. Emailing your subscribers weekly or monthly keeps you in their minds. Just remember your email is not for a sales push, but to offer something of value.

LEAD MAGNET IDEAS: Use your PDF you have created from your blog, a helpful guide, 5 top tips....etc. as a giveaway in exchange for emails. Build your email list using mailchimp.com

Using Mailchimp.com create a series of emails to be sent after the initial email. This will also save you time and build interest. Create a 5 Day Challenge.....once someone signs up you can send them a daily email, completely automated. Set a clear Call to Action guiding to more resources, contact details etc.
