This is What I Was Made For! Week 4: Make a Difference DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

RECAP In the final week of this series, we continued the idea that helping people get to the point where they can say about their life, “This is what I was made for!” happens not only when we know God, find freedom and discover purpose but when we make a difference and how we can do that at MTVchurch.

MTVGROUP QUESTIONS 1. The message started with stories from the staff of volunteers who made a difference in their lives. Spend time sharing some of your stories. Who are church volunteers who made an impact on your spiritual journey? 2. Josh shared examples of a medical student and a student pilot who learned knowledge but never applied it. What would some other extreme examples be of people who spend years learning something but never apply it? How often do you think Christians learn Bible knowledge without applying it? Why do you think that is? 3. Read Matthew 7:24-27. The BIG Idea for the week was: It’s the application, not the intention, that leads to transformation. Discuss a time in your life when you had all the intention in the world to do something but you never followed through. What were the results? 4. Recap the four steps we’ve looked at in this series and see if you can tell your Christian journey utilizing these four steps by answering these questions: • How did you come to Know God? • How did you begin to Find Freedom from your past? • How have you Discovered Your Purpose? • How are you Making a Difference in your world?

NEXT STEPS Josh listed four specific ways we can Make a Difference through MTVchurch (Join an MTVgroup, Give Financially, Team MTV, Project HOPE). Project HOPE is our intentional ministry outside the four walls of the church. As a group, how can you plug into Project HOPE (www.mtvprojecthope.com) and make a difference in your community? It may be an existing ministry or starting a new one, but commit to make a difference together!
