Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator Location: Newport, RI Type: Full-time Salary: $30,000 - $36,000 commensurate with experience Application due date: September 16th, 2016 Summary Bike Newport is an exciting fast-paced leader in bicycle advocacy. We bring together community programs and leaders to establish positive outcomes for bicycling in Newport and Aquidneck Island. We believe that bicycling improves health, economy, environment, enjoyment, and overall quality of life and quality of place. Our goal is to get more people on bicycles for both recreation and transportation, and we make progress by focusing on infrastructure, education, and ridership. We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-organized, self-starter who shares our bike-friendly passions to join us as our Community Outreach Coordinator. Our new team member will be a very public advocate for active transportation. Responsibilities will include: • • • • • • • • • •

Marketing and social media Web site updates Membership management Event management Community engagement Working with community members and leaders in business, education, health, and local government Media management Database management Program impact tracking and reporting Office management

Recommended Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • • • • • • •

Familiarity with Aquidneck Island community, especially Newport. Knowledge of and interest in bicycle and pedestrian issues Spanish proficiency a plus Organized, detail-oriented, systems-oriented Excellent written and presentation communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills, confident/outgoing personality Mac-based software and web services
