n Dale Carey’s two-run seventh inning home run keys sixth-seeded Miami to a 5-3 victory over No. 2 seeded North Carolina in Day 2 of the ACC Tournament ... the victory snaps the Tar Heels' 14-game win streak ... the Hurricanes have won five in a row, and 10 of the last 11, against North Carolina and lead the overall series 29-21-1. n After totaling only four extra base hits in 49 regular season games, Miami junior outfielder Chantz Mack has found NewBridge Bank Park to his liking, pounding out a double, a home run and three RBIs in seven at bats in the 2012 ACC Tournament. n North Carolina freshman Grayson Atwood’s seventh-inning, two-run home run was the first of his career and only his second extra base hit of the season ... the Mount Pleasant, N.C., native now has hit safely in each of his last two at bats and has raised his batting average to .357. n Miami sophomore outfielder Dale Carey’s seventh-inning, two-run home run was his second of the year and the third of his career ... Carey’s last home run came in the season’s second game back on Feb. 18 against Rutgers. n Through the first five games of this year’s tournament, there have been seven home runs hit and an average of 6.6 runs scored per game ... in 2010 (also in Greensboro) through the first five games, there were 21 home runs and an average of 16.2 runs scored per contest.
