n After totaling only four extra base hits in 49 regular season games, Miami junior outfielder Chantz Mack has found NewBridge Bank Park to his liking, pounding out two doubles, a triple, a home run with four RBIs ... in three ACC Tournament games, Mack is 6-for-12 and has raised his season average from .289 to .299. n Wake Forest’s Carlos Lopez’s third inning home run was his 10th of the season and his second since March 25 ... Lopez has hit safely in eight of his last nine games and leads the Deacons in extra base hits with 27 (17 doubles, 10 home runs). n Making his second-straight start since breaking his wrist on April 15, Miami senior first baseman Peter O’Brien was 1-for-4 and picks up his team-leading 39th RBI of the season and his first since April 14. n In Miami’s three ACC Tournament games, Hurricane starting pitchers pitched 23 of the team’s 27 innings with an ERA of 1.57, allowing only four earned runs with 13 strikeouts and one walk. n Eric Whaley delivers his staff-best 12th quality start of the season Friday night, keeping the Hurricanes in the game with a 129-pitch outing ... despite boasting the lowest ERA of any of any Hurricane starters, Whaley earns his first win tonight since March 24 against Maryland. n After hitting only one home run in his first 38 games of the season, Miami’s Rony Rodriguez has now hit two in his past six games ... Rodriguez was tied for second on the Hurricanes with 13 homeruns in 2011. n Through the first nine games of this year’s tournament, there have been 15 home runs and an average of 10.0 runs scored per game ... in 2010 (also in Greensboro), there were 35 home runs and an average of 15.8 runs scored per contest through the first nine games.
