2015-2016 Impact & Club Engagement Report SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF THE AMERICAS

In 2015-2016, 8,634 girls participated in Dream It, Be It through 443 projects hosted by Soroptimist clubs. Of those projects, 239 were conferences and 204 were a series of small group mentoring sessions. Clubs contributed 24,825 volunteer hours (27% increase from 2014-2015) and $264,579

(107% increase from 2014-2015) in support of local Dream It, Be It projects. Using a participant evaluation form, clubs collected responses from girls after each Dream It, Be It project and entered them into an online evaluation tool. For 2015-2016 the evaluation tool

collected responses on behalf of 5,096 participants (60% of reported participants). The results are as follows:        

90% of girls report feeling more confident about their future success 87% of girls report feeling more prepared to pursue their career goals 80% of girls report Dream It, Be It has provided them with new tools to overcome obstacles to their success 75% of girls report Dream It, Be It has provided them with new tools to overcome setbacks 87% of girls report understanding how their values can connect to possible careers

78% of girls report know women who want to support their professional aspirations 87% of girls report being introduced to professional role models 86% of girls report creating achievable goals for their future

In addition to these quantifiable results, SIA also received feedback from girls about how the program has affected their lives: United States  I learned how to be a better version of myself.  This workshop was truly inspiring. I'm so excited now I have so many resources to help me begin my life.  My favorite part of Dream It, Be It was how [Soroptimists] allowed everyone to continue their dreams and were behind us 100% of the way. 2015-2016 DIBI IMPACT AND CLUB PARTICIPATION REPORT Japan  I have learned what possibilities in society are available to us women and got more inspired about the future.  I considered my future, taking various perspectives into consideration, without being trapped by stereotypes.  I have understood that you can make your dream come by working hard for it and not giving it up. Korea  I became an optimist and decided not to give up just being occupied by the thought that my family is poor.

Club Participation In 2015-2016, a total of 432 clubs engaged with Dream It, Be It. This was a 4% decrease from clubs reporting plans to participate in 2014-2015.
