In addition Bacs has supported the changes that 2 existing participants have made in preparation for structural reform / ring-fencing. The number of direct participants has risen from 16 to 19.

Direct Debit CONSULTATION In May 2017 we provided feedback on the public consultation on Direct Debit. Our research findings identified an opportunity for product enhancement to better meet customer needs. During 2017 we identified a series of concepts that we have been testing through trials with stakeholder volunteers. We received over 140 responses to our public call for input to help us assess these concepts.
