Dear Friends, Art at the Ranch 2017 is coming soon! The artists have been hard at work preparing for the Gallery show, Artist reception and Silent Auction, Art Fair and the Plein Air Paint Out. The Gallery Show runs from August 1 to September 5. If you have not already seen it please stop by the Lodge and take a look at all the great art! You can purchase the art at the Lodge Restaurant or at the Welcome Center. Artist Reception and Silent Auction begins Friday, September 1, 5:30-7:30 pm and will be located in the Lodge Brooks Room and deck. Join us to greet our artists, have a glass of wine and buy some art! Entertainment by Chris Patrick and Selah Broderick, local Sisters artists, will be playing a mixture of Celtic and folk music. The Art Fair on Saturday, September 2, will be outside the Bistro and pool area. Back by popular demand are Marv and Rindy Ross of Quarterflash, founders of Seafood Mama, and the Trail Band. They will be performing from 1-3 pm. Opening for Marv and Mindy are a duet from Bend, Honey Don’t, playing American Folk Music, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Artist exhibits and sales are from 10 am to 4 pm. We have a great line up of Plein Air artists again this year. The word Plein Air is French for ‘open air’ where artists paint the landscape in the open air, a central feature in French Impressionism. On Saturday, September 2, artists will be painting by the lakeside from 9 am to 12 pm. Voting for People’s Choice Award will be at 1 pm and the paintings will be for sale from 1-4 pm. Please join us to watch the artists paint, vote for your favorite painting and buy a painting! We have a special guest teaching the Children’s Art Workshop from 2-4 pm on Saturday at the Lakeside Activity Center. Kit Stafford has been teaching art in the Sisters School District for over 20 years! We are so thrilled to have her with us this year! Please send your children and grandchildren to the workshop! See you at Art at the Ranch! Paula Perkins Caryl Gibson Co-presidents of the Art Guild
