MEET THE COACHING STAFF CHRISTI POSEY completed her sixth
Posey has an outstanding volleyball pedigree, seeing success at all levels of coaching. She led the Roos to the first-ever conference title in 2014 while setting the school record for wins (24). Prior to UMKC, she was an assistant coach at the University of Kansas where she landed the No. 26 ranked recruiting class in the nation in 2010 according to PrepVolleyball.com. Prior to her time at KU, she was the head coach at Blue Valley Northwest HS in Overland Park, Kansas where she went to the state championship in all eight of her seasons while winning two state titles (1996 & 1997), including a 44-0 record in ‘97.

TRENT JONES completed his sixth season with the UMKC volleyball team in 2016 and has served as the associate head coach for the last four seasons. In his six years on the staff, Jones has helped the Roos to a 98-76 overall mark and five-straight winning seasons for the first time in school history. Jones came to UMKC from UMSL, where he led the Tritons to a 64-28 record in his three seasons and the squad’s first trip to the NCAA Division II tournament since 1995 in 2010. In that same season, he directed the team to its first appearance in the AVCA Top-25 since 1993. Prior to his time at UMSL, Jones was an assistant at Washburn University and he got his first experience in coaching as a volunteer assistant at the University of Kansas from 2002-04.

Athletes will experience three days of intense, skill-specific and team training. The camp will be held at the Swinney Recreation Center on the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus.
The Junior Elite Camp is for the younger athlete who is eager to improve their general skills of the game. Instruction will include some combination training and team development. Newcomers to volleyball will want to identify themselves and attend our Novice session, included within the Junior Elite Camp.
