2018 Robbie Clark Academic Scholarship Application Deadline: April 6, 2018 Scholarship Eligibility Eligible applicants must: • Be a 2018 graduating senior. • Be a resident of East Point or College Park, Georgia OR a student at a South Fulton County high school. • Have a numerical average of 80 or higher on a 100 point grading scale. • Show evidence of academic and personal motivation, good character, and potential for successful matriculation at an accredited four-year college or university. • Be willing to participate in a 30-minute interview scheduled in the evening on April 26 or 27, 2018. Application Process The following items must be submitted to one of the addresses provided below by April 6, 2018: • Scholarship Application beginning on the following page • 300-500 word essay on the topic: Choose one significant community service activity from your high school career. Explain how this experience influenced your development and post-high school plans. • Unofficial transcript (Applicants who are invited to interview will be asked to provide an official transcript.) • Two (2) Academic Recommendations highlighting your academic and extracurricular involvement and educational goals. Academic Letters of Support should be written by a teacher, counselor, or administrator who is familiar with you. • One (1) Personal Recommendation highlighting your character and commitment to pursuing higher education. The Personal Letter of Support may be written by someone who knows you well such as a peer, family friend, religious leader, employer, or community service leader. VI. Essay Compose a 300-500 word essay on the following topic: Choose one significant community service activity from your high school career. Explain how this experience influenced your development and post-high school plans. The essay must be typed in Georgia or Times New Roman 12 pt. font and double-spaced. VII. Unofficial Transcript An unofficial copy of your most recent high school transcript should be submitted. Applicants who are invited to interview will be asked to provide an official certified transcript in a sealed envelope. VIII. Verification I certify that all the statements made in this application are true and correct to the best of my knowledge. If awarded the scholarship, I give The Twenty Pearls Foundation, Inc. permission to use my name and image in reports, materials, press releases, the organization website, and at activities associated with the scholarship program. I understand that all financial and academic information from my transcript and application is confidential. I understand that if chosen as a scholarship recipient it is my responsibility to provide the Foundation official proof of college or university enrollment to receive scholarship payment. I also understand that if this application is submitted without all the required attachments and supporting information it will be not meet the eligibility criteria and will not be considered for the scholarship.
