Anteo to launch three new Application Kits for IVD and Life Sciences markets DIAsource to launch its unique Free-25OH Vitamin D ELISA and a Zika virus ELISA in the IVD market
Anteo and DIAsource are positioned to showcase their new products at the 68th AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo to be held August 2-4 at the Pennsylvania Convention Centre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As the leading event for laboratory medicine worldwide, AACC is one of the world’s largest expositions for clinical laboratory products and services. It is a premier industry event where breakthrough innovations in clinical testing and patient care are introduced to the healthcare community. This year Anteo will use AACC as the launch pad for the introduction of three new application kits targeted for specialised sub-sectors of the IVD and Life Sciences industries. DIAsource will launch its Zika virus ELISA assay for which special interest is recognized in South America and the world’s first commercially available assay measuring Free-25OH (protein-unbound) Vitamin D for the IVD market. LATERAL FLOW COUPLING KIT Anteo’s ready-to-use Lateral Flow Coupling Kit for magnetic and latex particles enables use of alternative particles to traditional gold. This gives users more flexibility in the choice of assay components selected, thus allowing improved compatibility with the newer detection technologies making their way into the Point of Care (POC) market. DCN Diagnostics trialed Anteo’s technology in a model human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) assay, finding five times more sensitive lateral flow assays with less variation in their experiments than was achieved with covalent EDC chemistry using magnetic particles. ANTIBODY COUPLING KIT Anteo’s Antibody Coupling Kit for magnetic, polystyrene and silica particles is a ready-to-use alternative to covalent chemistry. With this kit, antibodies assemble in the correct orientation greatly reducing the risk of antibody damage, leading to fewer antibodies required for the experiment, increased antibody functionality, reduced interference and increased uniformity between experiments. MAGNETIC SEPARATION COUPLING KIT The ready-to-use Magnetic Separation Coupling Kit reduces labour costs and simplifies reagent preparation times. This kit enables scientists to achieve results even when testing with unknown proteins. This streamlines the protein coupling screening process often required to select a compatible coupling method for novel proteins lacking complete characterisation.
ZIKA VIRUS ELISA ASSAY

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Zika virus an international public health emergency, prompted by growing concern that it could cause birth defects (microcephaly). As many as four million people could be infected by the end of the year. DIAsource is proud to launch a ZIKA virus ELISA assay at the AACC. Its extended network of distributors will enable DIAsource to bring this assay into the most affected areas in South America. FREE-25OH VITAMIN D ELISA ASSAY With this unique assay DIAsource consolidates its position as a provider of specialty assays in the Vitamin D testing market. DIAsource manufactures the only commercially available assay to measure this free fraction of 25OH Vitamin D. It will be launched into the IVD market at the AACC. The interest in measuring 25OH Vitamin D keeps growing worldwide reaching a total market value of 1.2 billion USD in 2016 (TechNavia). Recent studies have suggested measuring the free fraction of 25OH Vitamin D rather than the total 25OH Vitamin D (as other assays do) can be more diagnostically relevant in certain conditions (pregnancy, chronic kidney disease, liver failure, bladder and pancreatic cancer, or in hemodialysis patients).
