JOINT TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER 7-YEAR, $5.3 BILLION PACKAGE SATURDAY SALEM – The Joint Committee on Transportation Preservation and Modernization will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday to consider House Bill 2017, a comprehensive statewide transportation improvement plan. The meeting will take place in Hearing Room F at the Oregon State Capitol. The agenda for Saturday’s meeting has been posted on the Oregon Legislative Information Service along with supporting documents. Under meeting materials, the final plan can be found in the -10 amendments to HB 2017, along with an executive summary, a section-by-section description of the bill and a one-page explanation prepared by the Oregon Department of Transportation. Last year, the committee held public hearings in 11 cities across the state, gathering input from local leaders, stakeholder groups and the public. The plan to be considered Saturday is the culmination of more than 14 months of work by the committee. The committee’s leadership includes Senator Lee Beyer (D – Springfield), Co-Chair; Senator Brian Boquist (R – Dallas), Co-Chair; Representative Caddy McKeown (D – Coos Bay); Representative Cliff Bentz (R – Ontario). The four legislators will be available for interviews following the meeting on Saturday. ###
