2016 Scholarship Application & Selection Process SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS • The scholarship committee will select four seniors from the Dallas ISD graduating class of 2016 to receive an $10,000 scholarship. • Scholarship will be paid to the student’s college or university upon documentation of the student’s enrollment in at least nine credit hours in an accredited college/ university/community college. • To receive any remaining funds, students must show proof of enrollment and maintain a 2.5 GPA or better. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 1. Have a minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale 2. Have financial need 3. Not be related to a Dallas ISD employee or any member of the Board of Trustees 4. Submit two letters of recommendations • One from a teacher • One of your choice (i.e.: teacher, coach, pastor, co-worker, etc.) 5. Submit an official transcript (AAR) 6. Complete an essay according to the instructions on the application. 7. Have applied to one or more colleges/universities. 8. Be accepted to one or more colleges/universities. DEADLINES • To be considered, students must submit a completed application and all required information to their school counselor by Friday, Feb. 26. • Campuses and winners will be notified by Friday, March 26.
