A Matter of Balance is a proven, award winning fall
prevention program designed for adults who are at risk or who have a fear of falling. This program focuses on useful strategies to manage falls. Successful fall prevention involves three main strategies: balance training and physical activity, medical management, and environmental/home modifications.

Participants will learn to:
• View falls as controllable • Set goals for increasing activity • Make changes to lessen the risk of falls at home • Exercise to increase strength and balance • Safely get up after a fall
Classes will be a combination of group discussion and activities, as well as exercises that focus on balance and strength, and meet once a week for eight weeks.
