Barn visit rules of conduct A barn visit on a farm is a fascinating experience. To ensure that everyone enjoys it and that there are no accidents, visitor should follow certain rules. These rules are shown at every farm. Very important for a barn visit are… • Respect, tolerance • Consideration and caution During a barn visit you can expect... • that the barn doors will be open at the stated times. • that friendly farmers will give visitors of all ages a warm welcome to the farm and barn. • that the barns in terms of cleanliness, and the animals in terms of husbandry, fulfil the requirements of the type of production (IP, Bio etc.) and thus comply with statutory regulations. • that the farms are managed in a first-class manner and meet all quality standards. • that you will gain interesting insights into agricultural production. During a barn visit you cannot expect... • that the barn is open day and night. People and animals need their rest periods. • that the farmer and his wife are always present. They have a lot of work to do in the fields, the house and elsewhere. If the barn door is open, by all means take a look around by yourself. But please respect the barn rules of the farm. • that the farmer and his wife will always have time for you. There is always plenty to do on the farm, especially in summer. If the farmer has time he will be pleased to answer your questions. • that you will have free access everywhere. Dangers lurk in barns, in particular for children. Please understand that certain areas may be closed for reasons of safety. The farmhouse is of course also private. Thank you for your care and consideration.
