A year ago I was severely overweight, unhappy and unmotivated. After giving birth and caring for 2 children I couldn’t find time for myself and my health and happiness was suffering. Then, I made the decision to commit to Reed’s training system and my life and my fitness took a sudden and drastic turn. Twelve months later, 90 lbs lighter, I’m looking and feeling better than ever. Reed motivated me to take a scary turn, put my health and wellness first and trust in his breakthrough fitness system. Now I’m the same weight I was in college. Although, the physical changes are what everybody notices and that feels great but now I have a different outlook. I’m happier and I’m enjoying life more. It was hard work and it wasn’t cheap but the result was worth it. He encouraged me and pushed me a little further every week so every month we hit our goals. I’m so happy I trusted him and believed I could do it. I love you Reed for everything you’ve done. You’ve changed my life and I’m so grateful for the love that I now I have for training and eating healthy as a result of your influence. Thank you for being there for me when nobody else would even mention that I was obese or think anything was wrong. You are somebody, like an angel, who cares about people becoming their best and showing them the way. Shannon Seranella August 2014

"As an Olympian I've always had a keen sense of how my body reacts to training. Once I turned 40, I started to realize that simply going to the gym to lift or run on the treadmill was not giving me the results that I was looking for. I was not recovering as quickly thus I wasn't able to work out with the same intensity I was used to. I put on weight and suffered the side effects of multiple injuries, high blood pressure and boredom with my workouts. Thankfully, I was introduced to Method Yoga by Reed Taylor. Method Yoga has literally transformed not only by body, but my mind and my eagerness to work out and improve. You can definitely fill your competitive drive with Reed’s training, training against yourself to go to the next level. Reed first pushes you to acquire the proper technique then challenges you to exceed pain and/or exertion barriers - which gives you an amazing sense of daily accomplishment. What I like about it most is the flow of each workout. There is no jarring movements, no excessive weights, yet I walk out of each work out knowing that I just got the most out of my 1 hour investment, as well as, a soaked shirt for proof." As a former muaythai fighter I’ve had my fair share of injuries combined with the wrong type of conditioning/lifting techniques left my body pretty beaten up. I turned to yoga which helped but I was still missing my athletic training. A couple of months ago I stumbled upon The Method Yoga Series along with its foundations training and that has completely changed my life. My view on strength and fitness will never be the same. I am able to do things I thought were impossible..and its gets better... Im 36 now and not only am I in the best shape of my life, I am getting fitter, more flexible and stronger everyday! Thanks Reed for motivating me to go to the next level!

I love yoga because I want to be able to connect my body and my mind but at the same time I want a practice that is challenging and keeps me fit not only in my mind but also in my body. I discovered Reed’s practice tree years ago and I immediately got inspired by his method and philosophy that I have been following ever since. His style is a fusion of all the best and most complete fitness training possible: Ashtanga Yoga, Pilates, and circus. His training allowed me to bring my practice to a level where I can really combine yoga and fitness, body and mind and I feel enormously accomplished physically and mentally. Through his training I am able to transform my body to a level that I did not even know I could achieve (and it only gets better and better the more I do it!). I am able to ameliorate my flexibility to a great extent and build incredible strength and endurance (I had none to start with!). I can hold a handstand for over three minutes, and it is absolutely not hard at all in fact I keep smiling the all way while upside down…how much more fun life could be? I love all the most challenging arm balance poses, some of which seem impossible initially. However, little by little under Reed’s guidance, I want to learn all of them; this is my long life plan. I am a neuroscientist and I constantly thrive to understand how the brain works. Training with Reed helps me to understand first hand the incredible power of our brain (and keeps me in great shape). Reed Taylor's Method Yoga is like no other training system I have ever done. The combination of fitness and yoga is the perfect mix. I have never felt so strong, lean and flexible as when I am consistently using his program. I have accomplished goals I never even knew I had! Thank you Reed. Lauren Long, San Francisco, Ca.

When I was 32 years old I was diagnosed with cancer. For the next six years I went through quite a bit: half a dozen surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, drug therapy; you name it I did it. The good news (great news actually) is that the treatments worked and the cancer didn't come back. However, my body had sustained some serious injuries. I had no flexibility, I had very little strength, and my metabolism was wrecked. About two years ago, I made the decision to go from excising a few times a week to everyday - and at times twice a day. I tried everything spin, kickboxing, cardio but as hard as I was working I didn't see much in terms of results. I thought I was just old and too damaged by years of treatments. Then six months ago I began training with Reed and everything changed. I started to see results in a few weeks. My muscles were longer and leaner and suddenly I had a connection to my core that I hadn't felt in years. My posture started to improve and I began to see the possibilities in my fitness goals, not my limitations. The past few months have been transformative for me. I feel like I have my body back - actually my body is better than it was before cancer - I'm stronger, more flexible, leaner, and happy to feel whole again. It is hard for me to put into words what that feeling means to me and how much joy it brings. Reed has created a system that is effective, challenging, dynamic, and balanced. But the best part is how much fun it is – Reed motivates you, makes you laugh, and keeps you coming back. Once you start you’ll wonder how you ever did anything else – it just doesn’t compare. Everyday I’m reminded how lucky I am. I’m so incredibly grateful for Method Yoga and the opportunity to train with Reed. So I’ll see you in boot camp – I’ll be the one always smiling J. Teacher Training Testimonials I'd like to talk about Reed Taylor and his influence on my practice and what we're about at Asta Yoga. I met Reed in 2001, he was my first yoga instructor and he motivated and inspired me to maintain and develop my practice while living in Miami Beach where I met him and he had Its Yoga Miami. Besides becoming a big brother and unconditional friend, he also turned out to be one of the best trainers that I've had in this discipline and a great supporting part when opening Asta Yoga. Reed's yoga practice has been propelled to higher levels by merging together his Yoga experience, fitness trainer talents and Circus arts. He delivers a solid class focused on developing physical capacities and getting results faster through more advanced methods that he has learned and created himself. His "Method Yoga" is a compilation of Yoga, fitness, circus arts and other techniques that he has been putting together for years and that he is now making available to those who are interested in faster advancement and improvement. He incorporates a series of cardio and core strengthening drills involving Pilates and medicine balls in a circuit style format, plus an in- depth stretching finishing sequence. All of this is designed to improve your Yoga practice and overall well being. Rene Henely, owner Asta Yoga, San Francisco http://www.astayoga.net

Reed Taylor is a pillar of discipline and a force to be reckoned with in the world of body control! As an avid breakdancer I was very resistant to taking on the yoga practice. Like many, my initial interpretation of yoga was that is only for people who can’t move their bodies like dancers or athletes. In 2001, I was convinced to go meet this yogi named Reed Taylor, who was describe to me as a young yoga teacher who was cool enough to just be a good friend and seemed to have set out a challenge for me to join one of his yoga classes and get a real taste of the discipline. I accepted this challenge and Reed successfully and systematically broke down my ego. I was immediately taken by this amazing class that melted away tension in my body and showed me exactly where I could improve. I took my first yoga teacher training at It's Yoga Miami with Reed Taylor and this training has propelled me into the world of yoga like no other training. It gave me the tools to start an accessible advanced asana practice without having to worry about injury. Reed's attention to strengthening the body and his knowledge of the fitness with his physical training spoke to my western mind much better than the fluffy talk of most yoga teachers. It made sense to me and his explanations of daily practice organized into intelligent progression throughout the week to helped optimize the progression of my yoga practice. Like any good teacher, Reed gives the inspiration for the student to develop to their full potential. I now run my own yoga studio and can easily travel around the world teaching thanks to his influence and still use some of the same tools that Reed taught me. None of the techniques are outdated and most people still have never been shown these methods even though they have been practicing for 10+ years. To study with Reed is to understand how to push things a little further. Reed Taylor is a teacher that will help bring you to the next level if you are ready.

I met Reed Taylor in Miami Beach in 2002, at his newly opened It's Yoga studio. I had been teaching yoga there for 5 years prior to our meeting. His positive energy attracted many students, but more importantly, his motivating attitude and unique approach to the practice of yoga. At one point, I assisted Reed during a yoga teacher training and worked closely with him. That is when I noticed how much effort he puts into sharing his vast knowledge with the students. In a creative way and tirelessly, he prepared the new teachers for their own careers in the field of yoga. He brings his generosity and focus to every class. On many occasions, I witnessed his innovative approach helping students in breaking thru barriers and taking them thru "plateaus" in their personal practices. His individualized training programs are thoroughly designed and most effective. I have used his special "core program" to regain strength after I delivered a baby 3 years ago, and use some of those techniques today with other new mothers who come to practice yoga with me. I remain forever thankful for our meeting and take any opportunity I can to train with him. I highly recommend Reed to any student of yoga --advanced or beginner, or anybody for that matter, who wishes to go further and deeper on their body/ mind/soul journey.
