March was not only a time to watch college basketball teams face off, it was also the time that the AANP opened registration for the AANP2017, the Annual Convention, July 12-15, in Phoenix – and had a March Madness-themed competition. The winning accredited naturopathic medicine program will receive five (5) complimentary registrations to AANP2017, the Annual Convention to give to alumni, special recognition at the Annual Convention, as well as bragging rights. The accredited naturopathic medicine programs that make it to the “Final Four” will each receive two (2) 2017 AANP Annual Convention complimentary registrations to give to alumni. The winner of the “Second Chance” Round will also receive two (2) AANP2017, the Annual Convention complimentary registrations to give to alumni.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE Each accredited naturopathic medicine program should promote the AANP2017, the Annual Convention and encourage their alumni to register to attend. Alumni should indicate the program they attended when registering, so that their alma mater may be credited for the registration. During March and April, the AANP will track and report on the number of registrations, and results of each round will be announced at the end of the week. If your program does not advance past the Opening Round, you will automatically be entered into the “Second Chance” Round. March 27-April 2 – Final Round and “Second Chance” Finals Week of April 10 – Winners Announced and Complimentary Registrations Awarded to Schools by the AANP. The schools choose who may receive the complimentary registrations. Alumni of Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME)-accredited naturopathic medical programs are eligible to participate. The CNME advocates for high standards in naturopathic education, and its grant of accreditation to a program indicates prospective students and the public may have confidence in the educational quality of the program. The U.S. Secretary of Education recognizes CNME as the national accrediting agency for programs leading to the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D. or N.M.D.) or Doctor of Naturopathy (N.D.) degree.
