Whether you’re used to using ALPS or not, there’s no change to the way you quote for the benefits your client wants in any of the portals. What will look different is how our products are displayed, so this guide is designed to help you understand our quote responses. When you get a quote on a portal, our new products – Life Insurance+, Critical Illness+ and Income Protection+ will appear in place of our previous Aviva and Friends Life ones. The main change is to critical illness and how you access our new unique upgrade options. There’s no change to how you quote for life only or income protection products.

Our new approach to critical illness cover – single product quotes To make sure our new approach to critical illness cover is displayed simply and easily accessible on your preferred portal, you’ll get two quotes when you request critical illness cover for your client with our Life Insurance+ or Critical Illness+ products: 1. Our standard critical illness offering (displayed as Life Insurance+ or Critical Illness+); and 2. An ‘upgraded’ version (displayed as Life Insurance+ (upgraded) or Critical Illness+ (upgraded). ‘Upgraded’ includes both the upgraded critical illness benefit and the upgraded children’s benefit so you can easily compare the price of these comprehensive add-ons.

Our new approach to critical illness cover – multi-benefit quotes There’s no change to the way you select benefits on multi-benefit services either as our Life Insurance+, Critical Illness+ and Income Protection+ products are all set up on there. If you request a multi-benefit quote and critical illness cover is included within this, you’ll get two responses just like you do on single product services. We’ll call these ‘ALPS’ and ‘ALPS upgraded’ in the quote comparison results.

Selecting additional options and benefits Once you land in Aviva for Advisers, you can add our unique global treatment, extra care cover and fracture cover options. If you’ve selected upgraded critical illness cover in the portal, we’ll show the details here. And if you’ve selected our standard product, you’ll be able to add in any of the upgrades and other options available. You can also deselect any options you’ve already chosen as needed.

We’re also supporting Iress’ new underwriting service which lets you enter height, weight and waist measurements upfront to get a more accurate quote. This means you won’t have to wait until you apply for our decision on these simple and common rating factors.
