Athytos or Afytos

Beaches Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort is a perfect base to explore some of the most beautiful beaches of Greece, located in Kassandra, Halkidiki.

Nea Skioni Lovely, golden, organized beach, in front of the homonymous village.

Loutra Agias Paraskevis Beautiful, sandy and quiet beach, 2km, away from the village of Agia Paraskevi, with the homonymous thermal baths. It has small taverns.

Islands & islets Ammouliani

Otherwise known as Kanavitsa or Chrousso (from the name of the old settlement). It is a long golden sandy beach 2km after Paliouri surrounded by pines. Ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling

Ammouliani is the only island of Halkidiki that has permanent inhabitants during the winter. It’s 120km away from Thessaloniki and frequently connected right across to Trypiti beach, the embarkation point for daily ferries to the island; the trip is about 10 minutes long.

Diaporos

Enormous beach, one of the most beautiful in Kassandra, with sand and thin gravel. At the end of it there is a lagoon. The beach has a refreshment stand.

This is a beautiful landscape situated on a secluded bay right across Vourvourou village in Sithonia peninsula. Ιt is a cluster of isles (Kalogria, Ambelitsi, Kalamonisia, Prassonisi, Peristera, AgiosIsodoros) surrounding the island of Diaporos.

Paliouri

Pefkochori, Hanioti & Polychrono Wide, sandy and fully organized beach, in

Kelyfos Kelyfos features wild goats but is best known for its spectacular seabed. Locals call this islet also, the “Turtle Island”, due to its shape. It is located right across Neos Marmaras village.

Spalathronisia It is a cluster of three islets almost opposite Porto Carras Grand Resort. Although they are very close to the land, they are isolated enough for private visits.

Recreation around Kassandra, Halkidiki Horseback Riding with Cavalo Cavalo Riding school, est. July 2015, is located in an ideal location between Nea Fokea and Afytos, with panoramic views to the sea and a rich forest environment.

Thessaloniki City Tour You will depart early in the morning and enjoy a sightseeing tour in Thessaloniki with a professional expert guide. Your exploration will begin from the center of the city and some of its famous monuments such as the White Tower, the Galerius Arch, and Rotunda (UNESCO World Heritage Site). When leaving behind the dense construction of the center, a different Thessaloniki will be revealed; the Old Town (Ano Poli) and the Roman Walls. Stunning views to the sea and Mount Olympus await you and a visit to Agios Demetrius Byzantine church will give you a sense of the city’s eternal spirit. After the end of the tour you will have some time to walk around and enjoy Thessaloniki’s famous gastronomy. You will return back to Halkidiki late in the afternoon.

Polygyros, Arnaia & Aristotle’s Park The archaeological museum of Polygyros brings together ancient findings from all over the region. Arnaia is a traditional village, where you can stroll around the picturesque houses and visit the unique church of St. Stephen. You can also, have a lunch here, before rolling our way to Stagira village, birthplace of one of the most influential philosophers of the world; the Aristotle’s Park is located at an altitude of about 500 meters and has stunning views of the Ierissos bay and Mount Athos. You will return to Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort late in the afternoon.

Petralona Cave This is the cave of Arhanthropos, the oldest European, about 700.000 years old. It provides a breathtaking spectacle of geological beauty. In the spot named “Cemetery of Giants”, 14 different types of animal-bones were found. The “Great Hall” has huge stalagmites in white coral-like. The “Hall of Roots” has fine roots above the cave having pierced the roof and formed a net. Next to the cave there is a museum containing many of the archaeological findings.

Meteora The Meteora vertical cliffs and its six monasteries compose a divine landscape; it is earth hanging in the sky, nature in all its glory. Pray, work and the welcoming of the guests by the lordly man or lady are the routine of this monastic community. You will be visiting a women’s and a men’s monastery, a traditional Orthodox Christian Painting workshop, and Kalambaka for lunch. Metéora is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Thessaloniki Religious Tour After an early breakfast you will leave right away to the Holy Monastery of Agios Ioannis at Souroti, 20 km outside of Thessaloniki. This is where Elder Paisios has lived and slept. Your pilgrimage will continue to the Basilica of Saint Dimitrios of Thessaloniki and Saint Sofia’s Church in the center of the city. After the end of the tour you will have some time to enjoy a coffee or a meal at Thessaloniki’s great restaurants and cafes. You will return back to Halkidiki late in the afternoon.

Mount Athos Cruise The monastic community of Athos peninsula was founded in the 9th century. It is a theocratic state dedicated to the glory of God. Its monasteries are a veritable land of masterpieces. You can admire unique works of art from wall paintings to portable icons, gold objects, embroideries, or manuscripts, which each monastery treasures. Since 1988, Mount Athos is listed in UNESCO’S world heritage list. You will discover eight of its monasteries, stop for a coffee and a walk at Ouranoupoli, have a traditional meal in a Greek tavern, and visit Ormos Panagias to see the village, watch traditional dancers and listen to Greek music.

Dion and Olympus Dion has been a religious center for ancient Macedonians until the early years of Christianity, people used to worship all their Gods, here. It is a narrow strip of land between Mount Olympus, the mythical home of Greek ancient deities. The tour includes a visit to the archaeological site and museum, a stopover at Litohoro village for leisure, and a walk in the Enipeas River Valley.
