Ages 50+ (3 hrs) 9:00 AM W LAAC Free 5/30 PET ADOPTION PROGRAM At Lubbock Animal Services (LAS), it is our wish that every companion animal be placed in a loving, caring home. LAS works hard to ensure that an appropriate match is made to ensure an animal meets its new family’s lifestyle. As part of our adoption program, we require a potential owner to complete an adoption application and interview with our adoption counselor. During the interview, potential owners are educated on the proper care of the new pet, common problems that may arise, and what responsibilities they have as a pet owner. The cost of adopting an animal is $60 and includes the first set of shots (parvo, distemper, bordatella), as well as rabies vaccination and licensing. Also included in the cost is the implantation of a microchip and the spay/neuter of the animal (covers all cost for most local veterinarians). Volunteers of the City of Lubbock Animal Services offer off-site adoptions of dogs and cats at PetsMart, located in the Canyon West Shopping Cen ter, on most Saturdays from 10 AM to 5 PM. SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHERS You love your pet and so do we! Did you know the City of Lubbock Ani mal Services has a program to assist some residents (based on a sliding income scale) with spay/neuter costs? If you or someone you know is interested in information on spay/neuter vouchers, please call Animal Services at (806) 775-2058. Follow Lubbock Animal Shelter Adoption Center on Facebook!
