Requested Action School Board Recognition of CCSD Region and State Technology Fair Winners

Summary Explanation and Background More than 200 students put their tech skills to the test at the region technology competition held February 3 at River Ridge HS. The competition was organized and led by Canton ES STEM Academy Assistant Principal Valerie Lowery and Little River ES Assistant Principal Laura Akers. The Georgia Educational Technology Fair includes 16 categories of competition for students in grades 3-12, with five bands of grade levels within each category (grades 3-4, 5-6, etc.). Forty-six CCSD students won first place in their respective categories at the region level of the Georgia Educational Technology Fair, earning a spot at the state competition that was recently held in Macon at Middle Georgia State University. Six students placed first, second of third at the State competition.
