AJAC Offers New Industrial Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Program

GET STARTED NOW AJAC is excited to offer a new Industrial Maintenance Technician apprenticeship program this winter. This 4-year program combines OJT (On-the-Job Training) in your company, on your machines and using your work processes, along with evening classes to teach the theory behind the skills learned on the job. Apprentices take 1 class per quarter, 3 quarters per year. The 12-course program is accredited through local community and technical colleges. Your employees will earn: • College credits that may be applied towards a post-secondary degree • Journey-level certification after completing the required OJT hours at your company. AJAC’s Industrial Maintenance Technician program gives your employees the opportunity to learn critical industrial maintenance skills covering the following subject areas: • • • • • • • • • •

Engineering Drawings - Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics, and basic drafting Lifting and Rigging - Practical application and safe operation of lifting equipment Precision Machining - Manual machine tool setup and operation Machine Automation Theory - Computer numerical control (CNC) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) Materials, Processes and References - Metallurgy, material properties and characteristics Maintenance Welding - Hands-on experience with essential welding and cutting practices Math for Industrial Maintenance - Practical application of industrial maintenance mathematics Maintenance Machining - Techniques for operating lathes, milling machines, and machine tools Electrical Systems - Industrial electrical theory, components, and systems Mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic system - Fundamental theories and practical application.
