Alameda County Fire Department Deputy Chief Gets Top Job in Moraga-Orinda

San Leandro—On the night of Wednesday, November 4, 2009, the Moraga-Orinda Fire District Board of Directors announced the appointment of Alameda County Fire Department Deputy Chief Randy Bradley as their new Fire Chief. Bradley joined the Alameda County Fire Department in 2007 as a result of the consolidation with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. “The Alameda County Fire Department is known as an industry leader for its progressive and innovative approach to regional fire protection. As a result of this good reputation, it is not uncommon for Chief Officers to be approached to apply and compete for Fire Chief’s jobs at the local, state and national level,” said Fire Chief Sheldon Gilbert. “With almost three decades of experience in the fire service, Randy is an established leader. He’s played a pivotal role in the development of the ACFD as a leader in regional fire protection. We wish him all the best in his new position,” added Gilbert. # # #
