Alberta Hiring Confidence Index July - December 2017 CPHR Alberta publishes a semi-annual Hiring Confidence Index that forecasts a six-month projection for hiring in Alberta, combined with an expectation of whether the skills available in the labour market can fulfill the qualifications for organizations.

The Hiring Confidence Index slipped slightly in the most recent data. Concerns about skills shortages - especially across the Oil & Gas, Construction, and Manufacturing sectors - offset a rise in hiring expectations. One in four HR professionals in Alberta’s manufacturing sector is worried that new hires will not have the right experience and qualifications.
