FUSE SAFETY
ALERT
Eaton Bussmann identified a potential nonconformance due to exposed wires in Bussmann series CUBEFuses which may contain a safety hazard.
Protect your workers with Littelfuse Class J Fuses.
Eaton Bussmann Series CUBEFuse Safety Hazard According to a Product Safety Bulletin issued January 12, 2018, Eaton has identified a potential nonconformance in its Bussmann series CUBEFuses that may result in an exposed, 42 AWG wire (0.07 diameter) used in the indicating circuit of the CUBEFuse. The Bulletin reports that the indicating wire may be exposed to the front or back of the fuse, thereby eliminating its reported finger safe characteristics. The Bulletin warns that the failure to wear appropriate personal protective safety equipment (“PPE”) when servicing these fuses poses a safety risk and can cause personal injury, death or property damage. This is an important potential safety hazard. When servicing these fuses, proper PPE must be worn to ensure your workers’ safety. View Product Safety Bulletin
