Coppell ISD Gives Back to Community Organizations During Fall 2016 Semester Coppell, TX- The Coppell Independent School District (ISD) recognizes the importance of its role in helping learners develop and demonstrate good character qualities every day to become successful contributors in the 21st century. This semester, student organizations and classes have held numerous charitable projects and fundraisers throughout the campuses to help neighbors in need and non-profit organizations. The mission of the Coppell Independent School District, as a committed and proven leader in educational excellence, is to ensure our learners achieve personal success, develop strong moral character, and become dynamic leaders and global citizens with a zeal for service by engaging each individual through innovative learning experiences led by a visionary staff and progressive community. Coppell ISD is proud to announce a few of the largest contributions our students have made over the last semester. -
Nearly $20,000 has been donated to non-profit organizations including the North Texas Food Bank, Dallas CASA, cancer research and several more organizations. Over 18,000 pounds of non-perishable food and household items have been collected to help restock local food pantries. Clothing and shoe drives have resulted in hundreds of pieces of clothing for adults and children distributed to those in need. Lastly, there are numerous smaller fundraisers, collections and contributions CISD students have made to the community including a blood drive, book drives, and community service projects benefitting campus neighborhoods.
Regina Owens, Director of Enrichment Programs stated, “The services provided to our local community is a characterization of the district's intent to ensure passion driven learning experiences. Our students continue to give from a place of generosity that far exceeds a simple event. Coppell ISD students seek to serve people and impact our world as they expand their learning.”
