“Anna is a major asset and key piece to our defensive unit,” said Coach Beth Papada. “She is one of my most consistent players on the court and overall an enthusiastic team player and teammate. Anna has great knowledge of the indoor game and is truly the starting point to our team’s transition and fastbreak scoring plays. At practices, she works hard to master skills and asks questions to further understand situations, concepts, and the game.” Dawson has been a main contributor to the team’s success all season. Coach Papada points out Dawson’s smart play, ability to stop the other team’s breaks, and well executed tackles that distinguish her as a defender that other teams take note of. “On offensive corners, Anna has the ability to not only take a strong shot but place it around the keeper and score when we need a goal. On our defensive corners, she has demonstrated great poise and ability to manipulate the play in her favor. In spite of her position as a defender, Anna also contributes to our teams’ scoring plays including corners, fast breaks, and penalty strokes.” Clubs share equal time in honoring Players of the Wk. Differently in the fall, players are nominated by coaches.
