Photographer in Residence (6 month residency) CyArk is an organization dedicated to the protection of culture and history across the globe. Working in 40 countries across seven continents, our mission is to reach the most precious sites left by our ancestors and to capture and protect these gifts and to share with the world. By using the latest reality capture technologies, we are able to capture every detail of the sites and with the emergence of virtual reality technology we can share the experience of visiting these remarkable places with anyone in the world. We are seeking enthusiastic and talented Photographers to join us for a newly created Photographer in Residence. We are looking for an adventurous creator, able to travel globally and domestically to help us capture images to bring our archive to life through VR. This is a 6 month residency where the selected photographers will be trained in new methods of 3D capture at the CyArk offices in Oakland and will be sent around the world to document significant cultural heritage sites. Selected photographers will receive a monthly stipend and all travel expenses will be paid by CyArk. Responsibilities • • •
Provide photographic and photogrammetric documentation of significant cultural heritage sites Create video/ photographic journal of experiences on site and working with CyArk Serve as an ambassador for cultural heritage documentation
Requirements • • • • • • •
Strong technical knowledge of photography, photogrammetric principles a plus Experience in storytelling and social media Demonstrated organizational and logistical skills for managing travel and deadlines Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with emphasis on interacting with diverse cultural groups, government officials and local populations Commitment to preserving cultural heritage; ability to communicate CyArk’s mission and enhance public understanding of our cause Valid Passport and Driver’s license Multilingual capabilities a plus Please email your cover letter, resume and portfolio of selected works to
