Dee Valley Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Plenderleith as Chief Executive with effect from 26 August 2014. Ian Plenderleith has spent his entire career in the utilities sector and the last decade in the water sector. He has specific expertise in capital markets and leading companies with the highest standards of corporate governance. He served as Chief Financial Officer of AS Tallinna Vesi (Tallinn Water, which is part of the United Utilities Group) from 2004 to 2007 where he played a significant role in their listing on the Tallinn Stock Exchange. From 2008 to June 2014 he served as Chief Executive Officer of AS Tallinna Vesi. Prior to these roles he spent 16 years in various positions within the United Utilities Group. Ian is a native of the north-west of England. Welcoming the appointment, Chairman Graham Scott said: “I am delighted that Ian will be joining us. He brings substantial water sector and commercial experience from his previous roles and we believe that his leadership will continue to build on the success of the Company to date.” Ian Plenderleith will join the Company on 26 August 2014 and will be appointed a Director and assume the responsibilities of Chief Executive with effect from the same date. David Strahan, the current Chief Executive, will resign from the Board with effect from 26 August 2014, however he will remain available to assist in the current price review process until 3 October 2014.
