ROLE AND PURPOSE: To maintain the accuracy of all AISD general ledger accounts and the resulting financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and TEA regulations. Perform specific duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum Certification/Education: B.B.A in Accounting or Equivalent  Prior Texas public school district accounting experience preferred

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:  Must have a basic understanding of fund accounting, experience working in computerized accounting systems, and be proficient in the use of a personal computer, with emphasis in Microsoft Office applications.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:  Reconcile general ledger accounts  Prepare and post journal entries  Add new account codes  Assist with annual District audit process  Provide analytical and evaluative reports, as necessary  Provide schedules and information to the external auditors, as needed  Provide accurate and timely answers to other District personnel who have questions or problems regarding Activity Funds, campus or department budgets, or general accounting issues  Perform other projects as assigned by the Director
