After carefully consider ing all of the stakeholder input, the Homework Working Group has developed a revised dr aft that is now ready for review. Last Fr iday, our 7th gr ade chor us sang at the Mer r y Maple event on the steps of Amher st Town Hall as the community r ings in the holiday season. The 8th gr ade Chor us sang at The Pub. Thank you to David Ranen, Music Teacher and Co- Assistant Pr incipal, for leading the students in this annual tr adition. This Thur sday, I visited Wildwood and was so impressed to see the abundance of clothing that has been collected through the PGOs' annual War m Winter Clothing dr ive. It's wonder ful to know that similar donations have been received at each of our schools. Thank you to our PGO par tner s for their tireless effor ts on behalf of our students and families!

Also on Thur sday, the Pelham PTO donated $1,000 that has been r aised through fundr aiser s this year to help families in the distr ict dur ing the holiday season! This is on top of their generous donations to staff which help ensure that the needs of students are met by providing staff and

students with supplies and access to much needed resources. As Pr incipal Desjarlais said, ?The tr ue beneficiar ies of their effor ts are the students at Pelham Elementar y School and we just want to say a hear tfelt Thank You!? For the four th consecutive year, Amher st Regional Middle School students' ar t work, inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, is on exhibit for the whole month of December in the atr ium of the Jones Libr ar y. This exhibit is a par tner ship of Amnesty Group 128, Amher st Regional Middle School and the Jones Libr ar y. Please visit the Jones to see this exhibit that publicly demonstr ates our students' knowledge, creativity and dedication to social justice. ARMS Science Teacher Nor m Pr ice has just had an ar ticle published in Science Scope,the National Science Teacher s Association's peer- reviewed jour nal for middle level and junior high school science teacher s. The ar ticle, entitled Using Imagery Support Strategies to Develop Powerful Imagistic Models, was wr itten in collabor ation with A. Lynn Stephens, senior research fellow in the UMass College of Education, John J. Clement, professor emer itus of Education at UMass and Mar ia Nunez- Oviedo, science education professor at the Faculty of Education at the Univer sity of Concepción, Chile. This week, I?m happy to share the ARPS Family Center Newsletter , which highlights some of the amazing work they are doing with our students and families. Dr. Mar ta Guevar a, Director of Student and Family Engagement, and Dwayne Chamble, Out- of- School Time Coordinator, will be my next guests on A Window Into ARPS to share more about all of the initiatives over seen by the ARPS Family Center.
