Storyline has become one of the industry’s most widely used software for creating eLearning. As an intuitive piece of software, it is certainly easy to get up and running, but there is a tremendous amount of functionality “under the hood.” This course, Articulate Storyline Level 1: Ignite Your eLearning Course prepares individuals to create a new course in Articulate Storyline 2. Not only will you learn best practices for creating eLearning in Articulate Storyline 2, you will have the opportunity to use a realworld project throughout the training to help you engage and ultimately ignite you own learning content. You will receive everything you need to ensure a highly-interactive, online training experience: a live instructor, practice files, a student workbook, interactive exercises, and access to a variety of online resources. At the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and confidence to use Storyline to develop and enhance your own interactive e-learning programs and the best part, you will have fun, learn a tremendous amount, collaborate with peers, and do so all from the comfort of your office. And…our course is less expensive than the other guys.

This class is for anyone who is: • A Content/Courseware Developer, eLearning Developer, Multimedia Designer, Instructional Designer, or Subject Matter Expert who wants to create an online course. • Beginning Storyline users who need to understand the basics of the software. • Beginning Storyline user who might be a self-taughter” but wants to learn new and faster ways of doing things in Storyline.

Dani Watkins brings a creative approach to building interactive eLearning. As a presenter at industry conferences and an award winner of the 2014 Bronze Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award for Best Custom Content, she is an expert at creating dynamic eLearning content. Last year alone, her team created 37 new courses, 90% of which were in Storyline and converted over 150 courses from Presenter to Storyline. With 19 years’ experience designing, developing, and delivering custom technical and business skill training programs, Dani has worked with a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, real estate/ property management, health care, telecommunications, financial, government, oil and gas, software/ technology, manufacturing, higher ed, and K-12.

Course Format • Begin the course as soon as you register by completing a few self-paced activities and discussions. • Attend four live and online vILT (virtual Instructor Led Training) sessions in an Adobe Connect classroom, April 5, 12, 26, and May 3. Each session is from 10 am – 1 pm MST. While we HIGHLY recommend you attend each vILT session live, we understand life happens. Therefore, all sessions will be recorded so that you can go back and review the live sessions.

Course Objectives Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: • Navigate eLearning Heroes site to be used as a resource for your eLearning development. • Discuss and collaborate with other students on eLearning best practices and content treatment ideas. • Create an interactive, scenario-based course in Storyline 2 organized logically by scenes and slides. • Navigate Storyline’s user interface. • Import assets, including PowerPoint, other Storyline files, audio, video, and graphics. • Create simple learner interactions using states, buttons, scrolling panels, lightboxes, layers, and triggers. • Create simple interactions: drag and drop, hide-reveal, rollovers, and simple sliders. • Create and edit both traditional and interactive quiz questions. • Create a basic screen recording. • Publish your course for playback on desktops, learning management systems, and/or mobile devices.

Technical Requirements & Course Equipment You will need the following for this course: • Headset or phone, for the vILT portion of the course • Internet connection speeds of 56.6 kbps or better • Windows-based* computer to run Articulate Storyline 2. • Every participant needs a licensed copy of Articulate Storyline OR a 30 day trial: https://www.articulate.com/ products/storyline-why.php. The trial period for Articulate Storyline is 30 days from the time you install. We recommend that you install the trial version April 4, 2016. *MAC Users: Articulate Storyline is a Windows-based program. Currently there is no version specifically for a Mac. However, you can run Storyline on a Mac with Parallels, Boot Camp, or VMware Fusion virtual machine.
