ARTICULATION AGREEMENT between MARYMOUNT MANHATTAN COLLEGE and F.H. LaGUARDIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE/CUNY Purpose of this Agreement To attract qualified students to F.H. LaGuardia Community College (LaGCC) and to Marymount Manhattan College (MMC) by providing information and guidance to facilitate the transfer of credits from LaGCC to MMC and consequently, the student’s completion of both the Associates’ and the Bachelor’s degree; To ensure admission to MMC’s Baccalaureate programs (see below) and the transfer of credits, according to the attached list of course equivalencies to students of LaGCC who meet the criteria specified in this agreement. To foster continuous communication between corresponding departments at both institutions in order to monitor curricular changes and propose revisions accordingly and to provide accurate and timely advisement for interested students. Terms of this Agreement Marymount Manhattan College agrees to admit qualified students from F.H. LaGuardia Community College. All applicants must complete the normal admission process; this process may include a placement test and/or an interview by an admissions counselor. Marymount Manhattan College agrees to accept credits in transfer from students of LaGuardia Community College and apply them to MMC degree programs, per the attached list of equivalencies; coursework other than that specified in the list of equivalencies will be reviewed on a course-by-course basis. Students must complete at least 30 credits at MMC, of which at least 12 must be in the major. All transfer credit will be subject to criteria specified below. LaGuardia Community College graduates, who hold the Associate in Arts (A.A.), the Associate in Sciences (A.S.) or the Associate in Applied Sciences (A.A.S.) and who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 may be assured of admission to MMC. Graduates of LaGCC whose coursework has been completed according to the attached list of equivalencies and conforms to criteria specified below, and who seek admission to the corresponding MMC degree program**, may be reasonably assured of placement at the level of junior. LaGuardia Community College graduates, who have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, will be admitted to MMC without a placement test; however, all necessary documents (e.g., application form, transcripts, letters of recommendation, proof of high school graduation) must accompany applications for admission.

Criteria In all cases, the following criteria apply: • MMC will accept in transfer all coursework according to the attached list of equivalencies completed at LaGCC provided the student will have earned a grade of C- or higher. •

Coursework at LaGCC completed according to the attached list of equivalencies will be applied to an MMC degree with the specific MMC code as indicated.

Students may not repeat a course for credit at MMC for which transfer credit has been granted.

No transfer credit may be granted for remedial courses. Independent study or internships courses will be evaluated by MMC faculty on a case-by-case basis.

Transfer students must complete all requirements set by MMC for the Bachelor’s degree. Graduates transferring from LaGCC to MMC understand that the completion of an Associate’s Degree (60 or more credits) does not guarantee that the student will be able to complete a Bachelor’s degree taking no more than 60 additional credits at MMC. Students transferring to a corresponding program** may be reasonably assured that completion within 60 credits/two years is possible.

Students are encouraged to begin to plan early to transfer to MMC in order that, by virtue of the choices they make as candidates for the Associate’s degree, they may maximize the number of credits earned in transfer to be applied to their Bachelor’s degree.

Students understand that MMC cannot guarantee that students who are in need of federal and State financial aid will be able to complete a Bachelor’s degree before such aid is expended.
