GoGoHares 2018 is presented by Break Charity in partnership with Wild in Art

A trail of 50 individually designed GoGoHares will be on display on the streets, in the parks and the public spaces of Norwich for an 11-week period during the summer of 2018, for all to enjoy.

We will also have a number of sculptures throughout Norfolk forming an extended county trail and the GoGoHares learning programme, GoGoCreate which will engage 150 schools, community groups, clubs and charities. You may be invited to work on one of these other areas of the project.

Terms and Conditions Terms and Conditions

1. The project is open to all artists, amateur or professional.

2. Whether you submit artwork for a county or city hare, the artwork may be selected for either sculpture.You may submit up to five designs in total over both sculptures. A maximum of three designs by any one artist will be chosen, and this will consist of a maximum of two city-based sculptures. 3. All terms and conditions in this application form a part of the agreement between you and Break in connection with GoGoHares and by submitting your work you are agreeing to be bound by all terms and conditions in this application form. 4. You must be the sole creator and owner of all intellectual property rights of the work entered, or if the work(s) is/are not your own in full, you must have sole permission in writing from the copyright owner(s) to use his/her work. Source material or proof of permission in use of another person’s work must be made available on request by the selection panel. Break does not accept liability in the publication of any reproduced art. 5. The design must represent a piece of work that you have the ability to reproduce on a 3D sculpture. (Either the city or county Hare.) 6. Any additions or modifications to the Hare must be sufficiently strong to maintain structural integrity of the sculpture. (Seek advice if you are unsure.) 7. As this event has a long lead-in time, the submission process will vary and updates can be found on our website. All entries must be accompanied by a completed Artist Submission Form. Postal copies must include the original plus two copies of your design. 8. No allowances will be made for work that arrives later than the deadline. 9. All personal data provided by you may be used by Break and Wild in Art for communications or marketing, unless you opt out in writing. We will not, without your express consent, provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of direct marketing. 10. The entry of any work to the selection process for the event constitutes a grant to Break and Wild in Art of the non-exclusive right to reproduce your work in connection with the promotion of the event and the work of Break or Wild in Art at any time in any media in perpetuity.

11. You consent to the use of your work, name and photograph in any promotional material carried out by Break or Wild in Art without any further compensation. 12. Your work will be reviewed by Break and shortlisted by a panel of local experts before the sponsor event. Only shortlisted designs will be shown to the sponsors or at the project manager’s discretion. 13. Work will be commissioned after consultation with the event sponsors. This decision on all matters relating to the work selected for use is final. No further correspondence will be entered into. Some works may also be used outside of the sponsors event commissioning process. 14. Upon commissioning, Break will provide the Hare, at no charge to you. Cost of materials is your responsibility with the exception of varnish, which will be provided. If you are not able to paint the GoGoHares in the public painting space you will be responsible for the cost of transporting the Hare to your studio or place of painting, and returning to Break’s Norwich Office. 15. You will provide a list of materials, and recommended paint brand and colours you plan on using on your Hare.

transfer of rights to Break and/or Wild in Art. 21. Following the trail event, the city sculptures will be auctioned on October 11th 2018 to raise money for Break. Artists will be invited to renovate the GoGoHares subject to, if necessary, an agreed additional fee. 22. By entering your work for consideration to be selected to be used in the event and for eligibility for payment of the honorarium you warrant that you have all required rights and consents to submit the work and to allow Break and Wild in Art to use the work in connection with the GoGoHares. You also agree to the assignment of all intellectual property rights you hold in connection with the work and hare sculpture to Break and Wild in Art and acknowledge that Break and Wild in Art have full rights and title to the work and Hare sculpture you produce in connection with the event.

Acknowledgement

16. Break reserves the right to withhold any fee payable to you in connection with the event if in its sole opinion the quality of the finished work provided falls below that which can be reasonably be expected for public display and/or is substantially different from the design you submitted.

By signing this application, I agree to all of the terms and conditions above. I certify that all statements made in this application are true to the best of my knowledge. I acknowledge that Break is not liable for damage or loss of materials submitted.

17. The Hare remains at all times the property of Break and must be returned in good order.

18. If the Hare is returned unfinished by you or deemed to be irreparable due to damage while in your possession, you shall be charged the full replacement cost of the Hare. 19. Break will award commissioned artists with an honorarium of £800. This will be paid on completion of the artwork, subject to sign-off, and all relevant paperwork. Payment will be made within 28 working days of receipt of invoice. 20. Subject at all times to your prior agreement, Break and Wild in Art may from time to time produce copies of the completed Hare in both 2D and 3D form. (e.g. calendars/posters/figurines). Any agreement reached in connection with any facsimile of your design should include any consideration to be paid to you by Break and/or Wild in Art and require
