Astronomers get chilled for easy listening courtesy of Janis Research Janis Research has successfully tested a JDry-100-ASTRA cryogen free 3He-4He dilution refrigerator that has been specially designed to provide cooling power to a novel type of sensor for cosmic microwave background studies. Key feature: Operates at tilting angles from -20 to +53 degrees from the vertical ! The refrigerator offers 120 microwatts of cooling power via an efficient and quiet pulse tube cryocooler with remote distribution valve. Future models will employ an automated gas handling system equipped with a more powerful oil-free hermetic 6-stage Roots pump. This upgrade ensures full remote control of the cooling process, as well as higher cooling power. To find out how other Janis cryocooler solutions can help your application, email our Sales Team or visit our Janis product pages.

Narrowband Fibre Filters from Orbits Lightwave now available In addition to laser modules, Orbits Lightwave also design and manufacture narrow linewidth fibre filters with very high sideband suppression for signal clean up. Extinction ratios of >23 dB are readily available and custom designs with >80 dB extinction have been achieved. These high-end filters feature sharp, narrow linewidth transmission peaks with high extinction ratios and low insertion losses. Standard linewidths down to 500 MHz are available, whilst even lower linewidths can be specified on a custom basis. Wavelength ranges covered are 1530 to 1565nm and 1047 to 1064nm. For a datasheet on these filters, visit our Orbits Lightwave Filter page, or email our Sales Team.

New datasheets for AKELA laser diodes AKELA is the market leader in high powered laser diodes for the wavelength region that covers 1208 to 2000 nm - achieving powers roughly 2~3 times that of the competition. They also offer the widest choice of wavelengths from 635 nm onwards, making the AKELA range the most complete in the industry. • • • •

Multi-mode and single mode pulsed and CW diode lasers Diode laser modules, bars and arrays Standard packages and custom designs Wavelengths: 635 nm to greater than 2 microns

AKELA Laser Corporation also specialise in system solutions that integrate the laser in an application-optimised electro-opto-mechanical assembly. This can include optics, signal processing electronics, device driving and cooling, thus providing customers with a complete plug and play capability. Datasheets for the laser diodes can be found on our updated AKELA product page. Page 1 of 2
