FT/PT: Full-Time

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: District Administrators POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Technology Coordinator serves as the technological leader within the District, responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision in all areas of District technology, to ensure that District technology and technology best practices are integrated into curriculum and administrative systems. The Coordinator supervises the District’s I.T. Department and guides, supports, monitors, and evaluates I.T. Department team members to ensure that each of them serves as a leader within their respective area and creates an environment of shared knowledge and purpose amongst the I.T. Department. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: 1. Mission, Vision, and Goals: The Coordinator fosters the success of the District by leading the development, articulation, and stewardship of the District’s mission, vision, and goals resulting in District improvement. 2. Planning and Analysis: The Coordinator uses multiple sources of evidence to drive department and District goals to improve organizational or student performance. 3. Human Resources/Instructional Leadership: The Coordinator fosters the success of the District by advocating and sustaining a culture and program conducive to learning and resulting in the professional growth of staff. 4. Organizational Management: The Coordinator fosters the success of the District by supporting, managing, and overseeing the department’s organization, operation, and use of resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment. 5. Communication and Community Relationships: The Coordinator fosters the success of the District by communicating and collaborating effectively with stakeholders for continuous improvement of the District. 6. Professionalism: The Coordinator fosters the success of the District by demonstrating professional standards and ethics, engaging in continuous professional development, and contributing to the profession. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Oversees the functioning of the I.T. Department and District technology operations for the purpose of ensuring an effective, efficient, and safe environment, where technology equipment and applications are utilized appropriately and efficiently to support administrative and educational functions of the District. 2. Supports the implementation of operational and educational technology initiatives (i.e., new systems, educational programs, hardware, etc.) for the purpose of assisting with the delivery and implementation of initiatives, providing support, information, and assistance to others, oversight of projects, and/or training to ensure successful implementation. 3. Analyzes the District’s technology needs and provides leadership and direction in developing and obtaining new technology for educational and office applications.

4. Directs and facilitates technology planning, assessment programs, equipment acquisition, application(s) development, and the establishment of standards for purchase, maintenance, and replacement of hardware and/or software. 5. Coordinates the implementation of the District’s Technology Plan, acting in alignment with student and staff needs and system functionality. 6. Represents the I.T. Department at District or building level meetings where current or future technology is affected directly or indirectly. 7. Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, supervises, directs, prioritizes work assignments, communicates job expectations, and evaluates the activities and performance of the personnel within the I.T. Department. 8. Reviews all new purchases of technology to ensure compatibility and efficiency while reducing or eliminating duplication of services. 9. Collaborates with District Office Administration concerning technology needs, problems, overall effectiveness or other matters that impact students, staff, and other District stakeholders. 10. Participates on hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts. 11. Performs liaison duties between District staff and I.T. Department personnel in the areas of systems design, modifications, and/or trouble shooting. 12. Plans, organizes, controls, and evaluates I.T. and electronic data operations. 13. Ensures the security of data, network access, and backup systems. 14. Audits I.T. systems, identifying areas of concern, creating strategic solutions, assessing various outcomes, and implementing strategic solutions in a timely manner. 15. Creates and maintains the I.T. Department’s annual budget and to ensure cost effectiveness and monitors the expenditures of funds. 16. Prepares or supervises the preparation of I.T. Department reports, records, Board presentations, and other required information and data. 17. Improves professional knowledge by attending meetings and professional development opportunities, reading professional journals and other publications, and collaborating with colleagues within or outside of the District concerning educational and technology matters. 18. Conducts regular staff meetings for the proper functioning of the I.T. Department. 19. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Secondary Education. HIRING SPECIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: 1. Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Technology. 2. Two or more years successful Information Technology Department leadership experience. 3. Experience in designing, installing, and troubleshooting networks for all technology systems including but not limited to WindowsOS, MacOS, ChromeOS, and iOS. 4. Strong communication skills. EVALUATION: The Director of Secondary Education will evaluate this position annually. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: KASD Board of Education will establish salary and work year.
