Student of the Week Interviews Week of November 14th-18th Grade 8: Morgan Marik Morgan was selected by the 8th grade team. Mrs. Vanis who nominated Morgan says, “She has been nominated student of the week due to her strong work ethic. Morgan scored very well on her History assessment. She works hard every day! Keep it up Morgan!” Morgan’s reaction to being chosen student of the week was, “I’m happy!” Morgan is the daughter of Stacy and Mandi Marik. She has one brother named Hunter. She has one dog named Gizmo and one cat named Daisy. When Morgan grows up she wants to be a dance teacher. “I really just love to dance,” says Morgan. She loves to dance, play basketball and write. Her favorite holiday is Christmas because, “I get to spend the most time with my family,” says Morgan. Her favorite thing about school is getting to see her friends every day. Lastly, one goal that Morgan has for the year is, “to get Platinum for her dance competition.”

Grade 7: Autumn Clements Autumn was selected by the 7th grade team. Mrs. Balko, who nominated Autumn says, “She is a very responsible student. She shows great leadership skills in her math group and is willing to help other students! Keep up the great work Autumn!” Autumn’s reaction to being chosen student of the week was, “Excited!” Autumn is the daughter of Brian Clements and Lisa Macik. She has two brothers named Austin, who is a freshman and Landon who is in third grade and two sisters named Ashley who is a senior and Bristol who is in 1st grade. She has one cat named Murf and one dog named Blue. When Autumn grows up she wants to be a nurse and a photographer. “I like taking pictures of nature and people and I just want to be a nurse,” says Autumn. She enjoys playing basketball and volleyball and hanging with her friends. Her favorite holiday is Christmas and her birthday. “I like getting presents,” says Autumn. Her favorite thing about school is Math and her friends. Lastly, one goal that Autumn has for the year is to, “get a 4.0 all year.”

Grade 6: Ashley Jurden Ashley was selected by the 6th grade team. Mrs. Poirier, who nominated Ashley, says, “She has gained a lot of confidence in Science class. She works hard to be a lab leader and goes over and above classroom expectations. She is very respectful to her lab group and her teachers. She is participating more in class and is a pleasure to have in class.” Ashley’s reaction to being chosen student of the week was, “I’m proud!” Ashley is the daughter of Kristine Jurden and Greg Samens. She has one older brother named Elijah, one older sister named Makayla and one younger sister named April. She has three dogs named Petey, Cody and Jake. When Ashley grows up she wants to be a Teacher. She says, “I want to help kids to learn." She enjoys singing and dancing. Her favorite holiday is Christmas “I enjoy receiving gifts and giving gifts," says Ashley. Her favorite thing about school is learning and meeting new friends. Lastly, a goal that Ashley has for the year is “get straight A’s.”

Grade 5: Dakota Mier Dakota was selected by the 5th grade team. Mrs. Bloom who nominated Dakota says, “she is a true example of the Blackhawk Way! Her responsibility, kindness & organization is a great example for others. Keep up the excellent work! Congrats!” Dakota’s reaction to being chosen student of the week was, “I’m really surprised. When I was called to the office, I thought I was in trouble!” Dakota is the daughter of Heather Schneider & Dustin Prince and William Mier & Angie Schmidt. She has one brother named Damien, one stepbrother named Landon and one stepsister named Dakota. At her Mom’s house she has many outside cats, cows, goats and chickens. At her Dad’s house she has two dogs named Lincoln and Yogi and two cats named Gus and Hayley Sue. When Dakota grows up she wants to be a Dentist. “I have just always loved it! And it’s my lucky day today because I get to go to the dentist,” says Dakota. She enjoys doing her farm chores, playing with her brothers and sister, and she really likes doing her homework. Her favorite holiday is Christmas. Dakota says, “It’s my favorite because I get to see most of my family that I normally don’t get to see.” Her favorite thing about school is, “everything,” says Dakota. Lastly, a goal that she has for the year is to, “get a lot of A’s.”
