Cambridge Police Department Honors Personnel at 9th Annual Awards Ceremony June 2, 2011 – On Thursday, May 19th, members of the Cambridge Police Department were joined by city and county dignitaries, representatives from other local public safety organizations, and their friends and families at the M.I.T. Kresge Auditorium for the 9th Annual Cambridge Police Employee Awards and Recognition Ceremony. Many awards were presented to deserving men and women of the Cambridge Police Department who were in attendance at the event to accept their honors. One person who was not able to attend the ceremony was Detective Daniel McNeill who is currently serving in Afghanistan. Detective McNeill’s family was on hand to accept the award on his behalf as he watched via Skype. Other notable awards were presented to Officer Oswaldo Ortiz (Specialist of the Year), Officer Stephen Bikofsky (Officer of the Year), Lieutenant Chris Bertolino (Supervisor of the Year), and Gladys Martinez (Non-Sworn Employee of the Year).
