BACKGROUND The Sketchbook Project runs annually as part of the KickstART Festival in celebration for National Youth Week. Uniting all corners of Western Australia, the Sketchbook Project encourages young creatives aged 12 to 26 to decorate a free blank sketchbook provided by Propel Youth Arts WA and then return it to be exhibited during KickstART Festival. You can use your sketchbook however you like! As long as it comes back to us with the same measurements as the original, and with the cover intact we don’t mind what you do. The theme for the KickstART Festival 2015 is ‘Our Stories’, which is based on the national theme, ‘It Starts With Us’. Tell your story through the Sketchbook Project! Here are some ideas to get you thinking… • Fill your sketchbook with drawings, paintings, collages, photographs, stories or poems. • Pull out the pages and re-create an art piece – an intricate pop-up, a big foldout poster. • Stitch it, tear it or cut it. Insert fabric or recycled pages. • Use pencils, textas, charcoals, paints, watercolours, crayons or thread. • The only boundary is your imagination! WHERE TO FROM HERE? REGISTER
