Basic Wi-Fi Setup Instructions You must have a basic knowledge of connecting your device in order to use these instructions. These instructions are not specific to any device. Grady County Schools – Technology Department will not provide setup assistance for personally owned devices. 1. Enable your wireless networking. 2. In the list of available networks… choose GCSS-Registration. GCSS-Registration network is used to register your device on our network and assign a dynamic passkey for network use. You only have to register your device one time… the passkey does not expire. 3. If your browser window does not open… open the internet browser (ie. Safari, Explorer, Chrome, etc.). 4. You should then be presented with the Ruckus Onboarding Portal. 5. If the Onboarding Portal does not appear… type in any URL (ie. http://www.apple.com) in the address bar and attempt to access the site. 6. Choose the Register Device option. 7. If you are presented with a “Website Security Certificate” error screen… select the Continue to this Website option. 8. You will then be presented with the Ruckus WLAN Connection Activation Log In box. Login using your computer login account information and NOT your email account information. 9. As part of the onboarding you will be prompted to download and/or install a file/profile or certificate. This is when the dynamic key needed for the GCSS-BYOT network is installed to your device. 10. If the Automatic onboarding does not work… or the device will not download the file in step 9… choose the manual install option and copy and paste the Network Key into the GCSS-BYOT settings. 11. The last step is to go back to your wireless networking configuration and select the GCSS-BYOT network if it is not already selected. 12. Your device is now connected to our Wi-Fi network but not to the Internet. In order to access the Internet you must authenticate through the CNS Web Portal. To access the web portal open a web browser… type in any URL (ie. http://www.apple.com) in the address bar and attempt to access the site. 13. The CNS Web Portal login will appear. 14. Login the CNS Web Portal with your computer login account information(not your email account). The CNS Web Portal is set to allow access for 4 hours before another login is required. There is no pop-up box that will let you know your time has expired… the internet pages will stop loading and/or apps that need the internet will stop working. Go back to Step 11 to reauthenticate for another 4 hours.
