ach year, Mazars USA welcomes new classes of auditors, accountants and tax professionals like you who have just graduated from college. And just like those recent graduates and new hires, you may experience a range of emotions from excitement to fear of the unknown when you join the firm. In fact many graduates told us they felt as though they “didn’t know anything” as they started their career. All of these emotions are perfectly natural reactions when making the leap from college life to professional life and is one of the main reasons Mazars USA’s learning and development and talent management programs are the cornerstone of our professionals’ career development plan. Starting from your first day, our professional development program is designed to welcome and prepare you for your professional responsibilities and support you as you advance at the firm and in your career. Starting Your Professional Development The good news is we do not expect you to be expert auditors, accountants or tax professionals on your first day. In the early stages of your career, your main focus will be on getting to know our firm, our people and developing

your technical knowledge. At Mazars USA we support you in these goals by bringing our new class together for Onboarding followed by two weeks of technical training. Onboarding is a day of fun where you will get to know your colleagues and learn about our firm’s vision, strategy, values and culture. Following Onboarding you will embark upon a learning path consisting of various training programs at each level in the firm that can take you “from staff to partner”. These training programs, which range from two days to two weeks depending on your level in the firm, develop and enhance the knowledge and skills that contribute to performing effective and efficient audit, tax and accounting engagements, providing exceptional client service and becoming a well-rounded business professional. Our technical training programs have been completely re-built over the last 18 months with you in mind. You can expect a totally immersive, interactive experience where you will learn the fundamentals of auditing, accounting or taxation through “real world”, hands-on case studies. In short, both our audit and tax professionals perform mock-audits and mock-tax returns within their first two weeks at

Mazars USA that simulate your first client engagement. “I had just graduated college and was so nervous starting training. However, I soon learned that the training and the instructors created a fun learning environment encouraging questions and allowing us to build relationships with the Managers and Seniors we would be working with. Everyone felt training was amazing . The work we did was extremely beneficial. It gave us the experience and guidance needed to work on our client engagements. Thank you to the firm for conducting a fabulous two weeks of training and giving us an encouraging and warm welcome to the firm!” - Rebecca Haye, Audit Staff The success of our training is due in great part to our experienced professionals who are not only experts in their field but who also have a real passion for teaching and helping others. The instructors have walked in your shoes and remember what it is like starting out. With that in mind our training programs and instructors emphasize teaching you not only the “how” but also the “why” when it comes to learning auditing, accounting and taxes. Training however is more than just learning the technical aspects of audit, accounting and tax to prepare you for your first year. We also want you to have fun!

“Our new hire training is not only effective; it’s also fun for the instructors and participants.  The key is the format we use – the instructors act as “Audit Engagement Managers” and work with a team of four or five to complete a “real life” audit engagement. This simulation is as close to “on-the-job” training as you can get. At the end of the training the staff has learned our audit methodology, our audit procedures and how to document their work. In short, they are fully prepared for their first audit.” – Caroline Brown, Audit Manager Throughout the two weeks of training you will have the opportunity to meet many people in the firm, from staff to seniors to managers to partners, through lunches, dinners, happy hours and other social events. During the training you will form long-lasting friendships with your new colleagues and with your instructors, who often become informal mentors and introduce you to life and a career at Mazars USA. “Basic Tax Training prepared us so well. The program fostered group learning and enabled us to make friends with our peers from different offices. We worked together to learn individual tax, corporate tax, and taxation of partnerships. Each topic had activities that were carefully considered and planned. The
