Easy Knitting

To knit this rug, you’ll need Patons Inca – 9 balls of Cream (7017) and 11 balls of Dijon (7056). Plus 8mm knitting needles, wool needle for sewing seams and a piece of cardboard 20cm wide for tassels. Your rug will measure approximately 85cm x 115cm. PANEL (MAKE 3) Cast on 36 stitches loosely using Cream. NOTE – Make sure you change colour at the same side edge each time. Each garter stitch ridge is made by knitting 2 rows. 1st row – Knit each stitch. Repeat 1st row another 23 times … 24 rows garter stitch and 12 ridges in all. Change to Dijon and work another 24 rows garter stitch. Repeat last 48 rows 4 times, then first 24 rows in Cream once … 11 stripes in all. Cast off loosely knitways. Join panels together, matching stripes. TASSELS – Using piece of cardboard 20cm wide and half a ball of Dijon per tassel, make 4 tassels and attach one securely to each corner.
