Introduction If you are a bereaved carer then you may be interested in meeting other people in a similar situation. The Carers Centre has been fortunate to receive funding to arrange some activities for carers who have been bereaved in the last year. A range of activities are being considered for 2013-14 including bowling, floristry and craft workshops. Time limited support can also be offered to bereaved carers on a one to one basis if needed. We have produced this Fact Sheet to provide a handy guide to other local and national services that help the recently bereaved. We hope that you will find it useful and that it will help you find the kind of support you want. These services are the ones that we know about and we have checked the details of the organisations listed. If you spot an error then please let us know. Brighton and Hove Cruse Bereavement Care Services provided: Bereavement information and advice, support and counselling on a one-to-one basis and in groups. Brighton & Hove Libraries Services Provided: The Library keeps details of sources of bereavement information and support. The Carers Garden Services provided: The Carers Centre has an allotment for the use of carers at Cravenvale Allotments, Beresford Road, Whitehawk Hill. Open Thursdays, 11am-2pm. The Compassionate Friends Services provided: Befriending service through a telephone helpline, local contacts, group meetings, online forum, publications and a postal library. To whom: Bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings, following the death of a child due to any cause (accident, illness, murder, suicide). Address: 53 North Street, Bristol BS3 1EN. The Royal College of Psychiatrists Services provided: A leaflet on bereavement can be downloaded free of charge from the website.
