BEST OF NORTHERN LIGHTS Day 1 – Arrival to Harriniva Arrival at Kittilä airport, transfer to Muonio (1 hour), Hotel Harriniva. On your arrival Reception will issue you with your Northern lights alarm. The afternoon is free for optional safaris or free use of the snowshoe and cross country ski hire. Dinner and overnight in cozy double rooms. Day 2 – Secrets of the Northern Lights and Aurora Adventure Breakfast and dinner in the main hotel. In the afternoon join us in our traditional kota to cook pancakes over the open fire. Meet with your local guides who will give you information about the hotel, activities and the local area. You will be given an informative workshop over the fascinating phenomenon of the Northern Lights and the science behind it. In the evening we will drive by snowmobile to the top of the Olos fell where we get close to the stars and hopefully above the cloud cover, should there be any. This is a prime position for Northern lights watching. Hot drinks will be served at the top. Safari is based on two sharing a snowmobile. Day 3 – Northern Lights Explorer by minibus Breakfast and dinner in the main hotel. The day is free for optional safaris or free use of the snowshoe and cross country ski hire. This evening we will head out by minibus for a four hour hunt for the lights. Beforehand we will check the weather forecast and the aurora activity in the area and head for the best spot. Hot drinks and cookies provided. Day 4 – Husky Night Adventure Breakfast and dinner in the main hotel. The day is free for optional safaris or free use of the snowshoe and cross country ski hire. The adventure continues tonight with a visit to the local husky farm. After enjoying a 9km safari a hot drink will be served round the fire whilst we warm up and keep a look out for a display of Northern lights.
BEST OF NORTHERN LIGHTS Day 5 – Reindeer Aurora Experience Breakfast and dinner in the main hotel. The day is free for optional safaris or free use of the snowshoe and cross country ski hire. Tonight we are off to the local reindeer farm; we will join our reindeer sleighs and be pulled through the silent forest away from the light pollution. Coffee with cake will be served round the fire. Day 6 – Northern Lights bonus hunt Breakfast and dinner in the main hotel. The day is free for optional safaris or free use of the snowshoe and cross country ski hire. Tonight we will head out on a bonus hunt. Your local guide will decide in resort which mode of transport will give you the greatest chance for the night! Day 7 – Farewell dinner and Aurora Snowshoeing Breakfast in main hotel. The day is free for optional safaris or free use of the snowshoe and cross country ski hire. This evening an upgraded farewell dinner will be served with Lappish delicacies while you reminisce of the week gone by. Snowshoeing is one of the traditional modes of transport here and on your last you will head out into the forest away from the light pollution with your snowshoes. A warming fire will be lit and hot drinks served during the safari. Day 8 – Departure Breakfast and transfer to Kittilä airport.

Please note that children under 15 years cannot drive the snowmobile and small children cannot drive the husky team. They will be sitting in the guide’s sledge during the safaris.
