We will discuss what the Bible says about gender and how we can get everyone involved in service.
SCRIPTURE
Genesis 1:27; Galatians 3:26-29; Acts 2:18
THINK ABOUT Adam AND Eve were created in the image of God. It was only after woman was created that God felt it was good and that man was complete. Genesis 2:18-24
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1.
Where do you see women being equally equipped/successful in our modern world? Where do you see women being limited?

Based on how you grew up, what can of bias do you have towards the roles of women in the church or in your home?

Look at Genesis 1:27. When talking about creating “man” in the image of God, he specifically reference male and female. How does women being a part of the image of God impact your feelings about what women can or can’t do?

Galatians 3:26-29 gives us some great unity language for within the church. It stresses no difference between Jew or Greek and slave or free. In that day, it was a big deal. It also stresses no difference between male or female because we are all one in Christ. If this was Paul’s position in the first century, what should our position towards gender look like in 2017?

So God created both men & women in his image. He’s called us towards unity in the church, even in regards to gender. But what about His gifting for service in the Kingdom? Read Acts 2:18.

What has God promised to his servants? Who has he promised it to?

How can we, as a group, as the church, do a better job of including women into the full work of the church?

Each day this week, read through Galatians 3:26-29. As you walk through your day, take note of how your bias towards gender agrees with or contradicts what God has to say about gender.
