KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR 2018-2019 NOW OPEN April 12, 2018 (MACON, GA) – The Bibb County School District has started the kindergarten registration process for the 2018-2019 school year. Parents will be able to pre-register their children for kindergarten online at www.bcsdk12.net through April 23. Once the information is processed, schools will work with parents to schedule an appointment for the parent to visit their child’s school and complete the registration process in May. The online pre-registration process for kindergarten will be simple, with parents completing a basic form online with the child’s name, date of birth and address. Documents required to register a child for kindergarten will not be necessary until the parent meets with school administration to complete the registration process. Parents will not be required to register a child for kindergarten if they are currently enrolled in a Bibb County School District Pre-K program. In order to complete the registration process, parents will be required to provide the school with the information below during their scheduled appointment in May. • • •
A certified birth certificate, which shows the child will be 5 years old by September 1, 2018 A Social Security card Two documents validating proof of residence, which may include: o Lease or mortgage with the address - Required o Current utility bill (electric, water, or gas) or mail from any government agency o Most recent income tax return o Property tax statement o Automobile registration or insurance -MOREVision: Each student demonstrates strength of character and is college or career ready. A government issued picture identification for the parent or guardian An updated Certificate of Immunization on Form 3231 (Shot record from the Health Department or doctor) Certificate of Dental, Vision, and Hearing Screening on Form 3300 Emergency contact information must be completed during registration.
Parents who do not have access to the internet, may contact their child’s zoned school directly or call (478) 765-8600 for assistance. Additional help for Spanish-speaking families will be available by calling (478) 318-8626.
