Blackboard 9.1 | Copying a Course Instructors can copy Blackboard course materials from a current course (masters or previous semester’s shell) into a new course (new semester shell). The instructor must have the “INSTRUCTOR” role in both courses. 1.

Login to http://blackboard.cpcc.edu

Select your destination course under My Courses. Destination Course = Course you are copying into

Remove course menu items/buttons from the destination (empty shell) course.

Note: Please don’t delete the “Announcement” navigation menu item from the destination course.

Go back to “My eLearning at CPCC” tab and selected the source course. Source Course = Course you are copying from

Under the Control Management, click Packages and Utilities, and then click Course Copy.

6. In the Select Copy Type section, select “Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course.

In the Select Copy Options section, click on Browse to select the destination course.

A new window opens up where you would click the checkmark next to the destination course ID. This would be the course which you copy into.

Scroll down and click Submit.

8. Under Select Course Materials, click on the button “Select All” to select the content from your source course to be copied into the destination course.

Note: Please don’t check any additional boxes (leave Availability, Enrollment Options, Course Guest Access, etc. unchecked, similar to the image above) as this might cause an error during the course copy process.

In the Course Files section, make sure the radio button for “Copy links and copies of the content (Include all Course Files)” and the checkmark for “Limit package to only files linked into the selected content areas” are selected. Click Calculate Size to determine the size of your course file package.

Note: Make sure that your files do not exceed the limit. If you have any problems with course copy, contact eLearning. 10. When you are finished, click Submit.

Note: Please be aware that a course copy could take up to 24h.
