Opening Exercises

The pledges were led by Matthew Broussard, a junior at IMPACT Early College High School. Board member Jimmy Smith gave the prayer.

Recognitions and Acknowledgements

The Board recognized Matthew Broussard for winning first place at the National History Day competition at the University of Maryland with his individual performance “The Turning Point That Made America Forever Free.” Broussard has won first place at the state level for the past four years, and he also placed first at the national competition his seventh grade year. He performed his dramatic interpretation for Board members and guests. He is under the direction of Steve Koester.
