THE CORE EXPERIENCE! The Core welcomes thousands of people each month all busily engrossed in a multitude of purposes in this community building. Some are reading, studying, some proudly registering their babies whilst elsewhere others may be getting advice, using a PC or tracing their family tree. All are blissfully unaware that downstairs hundreds of people may be wildly applauding a Theatre show, whilst some are learning new dance steps in the Studio at the same time as toddlers are learning rhymes in the Children’s Library. This fantastic building is crammed with people doing things, who rub along nicely next to other people doing their own thing too! Long may this Core experience continue. So whatever you do here, next time take time to look around at something new… you never know where it may lead you! TIME IN SOL ON IHU STI LL UE Q

Last brochure I asked readers to suggest new activities and daytime art classes were popular - so we’re giving it a try! (see page 30). Finally, Solihull’s own ‘Mr Panto’ Malcolm Stent was honoured in Her Majesty’s New Year List and we’re thrilled for him. Jack & The Beanstalk this year will be his last after an astonishing 27 years! His Solihull panto finale will be a sparkling celebration of the decades of fun, laughter and silliness he’s given the generations of pantomime audiences and we hope those audiences will join us to thank him for every single laugh, of every 4 single show!
